Department Information
The Fairfield Police Department employs 13 full-time sworn officers and 4 dispatchers. Two of Fairfield's officers were
hired after obtaining federal grant money. The first officer was hired after the department was awarded a COPS Universal Hiring
Grant. The second officer was hired after the department and the local high school were granted a COPS in Schools grant. This
grant allowed the department to hire an extra officer to take the placed of another officer which was assigned to the high
school as a School Resource Officer (please see related section). Recently the department dedicated an officer to the
full time position of detective.
