18.04.010 Posting Signs.
 
 The chief of police or any person designated by him, the mayor or city council or the city of Fairfield shall post, or cause to be posted, suitable signs to regulate vehicles and traffic within the city as approved by the city council and in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois.

18.04.020 Scene of Fire.
 
The fire department in command, or any fireman designated by him, may exercise the powers and authority of a policeman in directing traffic at the scene of any fire or where the fire department has responded to an emergency call for so long as fire department equipment is on the scene in the absence of or in assisting the police.

18.04.030 Animals or Bicycles.
 
Every person riding a bicycle or an animal, or driving any animal drawing a vehicle upon any street, shall be subject to the provisions of this title applicable to the driver of a vehicle, except those provisions which can have no application to one riding a bicycle or driving or riding an animal. Provided that, except in business districts, bicycles may be ridden on sidewalks.

18.04.040 Barricaded Streets.
 
No person shall operate any motor vehicle upon any street or any part of the city of Fairfield that has been roped, barricaded or otherwise marked or posted that traveling is prohibited on said street or part of street. (Ord. 556 Sec. 1 4-24-45)

18.04.050 General Penalty.
 
Any person found guilty of violating any section of this title or failing to comply therewith shall be fined not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each offense, except when a definite penalty is provided.
