18.08.010 Double Parking.
 
No double parking shall be had on the street known as Main Street of said city beginning at a point known as East Fourth Street and Main Street and running West on Main Street to the Railroad Tracks of the Baltimore and Ohio Southwestern Railroad Company. (Ord. 415 Sec. 1 9-5-36)

18.08.020 Parking within parking lanes.
 
 All vehicles parked on streets that have parking lanes marked thereon shall be parked inside of said lanes. (Ord. 439 Sec. 1 5-17-38)

18.08.030 Parking tractor, semi-trailer, trailer, float or bus abatement.
 
No person shall stand or park a tractor, semi-trailer, trailer, float or bus in any street in the City of Fairfield for a longer period than four (4) continuous hours. (Ord. 986 Sec. 1 11-5-68)

Any vehicle parked in violation of this section is hereby declared to be a nuisance which may be abated by any police officer removing or having removed such vehicle to any authorized garage and the costs of removal shall constitute a lien upon said vehicle. (Ord. 986 Sec. 2 11-5-68)

18.08.040 Parking motor vehicle which cannot be moved under its own power and trailer not connected with vehicle.
 
No person shall park a motor vehicle in the streets of Fairfield for a period of longer than 2 hours when said motor vehicle is not in a condition that it can be removed from said place under its own power, and no person shall park any trailer on any streets, or parkways, of the City of Fairfield for longer than 2 hours when said trailer is not connected with a motor truck or vehicle capable of moving said trailer. 18.08.050 Proof of person in control of vehicles at time of parking.
 
The fact that a vehicle which is illegally parked is registered in the name of a person shall be considered prima facie proof that such person was in control of the vehicle at the time of such parking. (Ord. 938 Sec. 2 5-18-71)

18.08.060 Designated no parking areas.
 
It shall be unlawful to park or stand any vehicle at the following locations in the City of Fairfield, Illinois, designated No Parking Areas:

North side of West Court Street from North West Third Street to North West Fourth Street (Ord. 545 Sec. 3 3-7-44)

East side of North West Fourth Street, from Main Street to Water Street (Ord. 545 Sec. 2 3-7-44)

North side of West Water Street from North West Fourth Street to North West Fifth Street (Ord. 545 Sec. 4 3-7-44)

Either side of Main Street from Southeast Seventh street to the Johnson Creek Bridge (Ord. 733 Sec. 4 11-5-57)

North side of West Delaware Street from the intersection of the west line of South West Fourth Street and north line of Delaware Street for a distance of eighty-eight (88) feet west thereof (Ord. 788 Sec. 1 6-5-62).

18.08.065 Designated No Parking Areas.
 
The parking of all vehicles shall be prohibited and it shall be unlawful to permit any vehicle to stand or park along and upon either side of Main Street (Illinois Route 15) between the Johnson Creek structure and the east corporate limits.

Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction thereof shall be fined not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense.

18.08.067 Designated No Parking Areas.
 
This ordinance is to regulate parking on Northeast Seventh Street form East Main Street to Washington Street.

All parking is prohibited on both sides of Northeast Seventh Street from East Main Street to Washington Street.

Any vehicle in violation of the second paragraph of this section shall have attached hereto by any officer detecting such violation a notice of violation. If the owner or operator of such vehicle shall pay to the city clerk the sum of five dollars ($5.00) within twenty-four (24) hours of the violation, such payments shall be full satisfaction for said violation. If such payment is not made within twenty-four (24) hours of the violation, then the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) shall be the penalty for such violation if paid before action is filed for penalties hereinafter provided. Failure to make such payment as provided in this section shall make the owner or operator subject to the penalties set forth in the following paragraph.

Any person who shall fail to make payment as provided in the third paragraph of this section, and any person who aids, abets or assists therein, shall upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine of not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than ten dollars ($10.00). 18.08.070 Thirty-Minute Parking Areas.
 
It shall be unlawful to park or stand any vehicle for more than thirty (30) minutes continuously at the following locations in the City of Fairfield, Illinois, designated 30 minute parking areas:

The south side of Main Street, between Southeast Sixth Street and Southeast Seventh Street (Ord. 882 Art. 1 10-17-67)

The North side of Delaware Street, between Southeast Sixth Street and Southeast Seventh Street (Ord. 882 Art. 1 10-17-67)

The East side of Southeast Sixth Street, between Main Street and Delaware (Ord. 882 Art. 1 10-17-67)

One-Hour Parking Areas. It shall be unlawful to park or stand any vehicle for more than one hour continuously at the following locations in the City of Fairfield, Illinois, designated One Hour parking areas:

North side of Leininger Road between Orchard Street and the West right-of-way of the B & O Railroad (Ord. 965 Sec. 2 6-20-72)

18.08.090 Two-Hour Parking Areas.
 
It shall be unlawful to park or stand nay vehicle for more than two hours continuously at the following locations in the City of Fairfield, Illinois, designated Two hour parking areas:

South side of Delaware Street between Southeast Fourth Street and Southeast Fifth Street (Ord. 1008 Sec. 1 9-10-74)

South side of East Main Street between Southeast Fourth Street and Southeast Sixth Street (Ord. 1014 Sec. 3 12-23-74)

East side of Southwest Second Street between College Street and King Street during the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on week days (Ord. 1032 Sec. 1 11-10-75)

West side of Northwest Fourth Street between Main Street and Court Street (Ord. 1039 Sec. 1 4-28-76)

South side of Court Street between Northwest Third Street and Northwest Fourth Street (Ord. 1140 Sec. 1 2-12-80)

Both sides of Main Street running from the East side of First Street to the West Side of East Fourth Street (Ord. 1187 Pt. Sec. 2 7-28-81)

Both sides of Southeast Second Street and Southeast Third Street between Main and Delaware Streets (Ord. 1187 Pt. Sec. 2 7-28-81)

The west side of Northeast Third Street between Main Street and court street, and both sides of Northeast Second Street between Main and Court Streets (Ord. 1187 Pt. Sec. 2 7-28-81)

Both sides of Main Street form First Street to Fourth Street, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. (Ord. 1199 Pt. Sec. 1 and 3 4-27-82)

On all streets between Main and Delaware between First and Fourth, inclusive, if two hour parking limit is requested by the owners or operator of the businesses adjoining each parking space, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. (Ord. 1199 Pt. Sec. 1 and 3 4-27-82)

18.08.092 Two-Hour Parking Areas.
 
 Vehicles cannot be parked for more than two continuous hours on the following streets and locations:

Both sides of Southeast Second Street from Center Street south to the east-west alley which is directly south of the Fairfield Public Library.

The fine for exceeding the two-hour parking limit established by this ordinance shall be five and no/100 Dollars ($5.00)

The two-hour parking limits as required by this ordinance shall be in effect as listed below:

Monday through Thursday 1:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
Friday 1 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Saturday 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

The Fairfield City Police are hereby authorized to place signs to properly designate the two-hour parking limits.

18.08.093 Five-Minute Parking Area.
 
It shall be unlawful to park or stand any vehicle for more than five continuous minutes on the following streets and locations for the period beginning on the first day of each month and ending with the eleventh day of each month:

West side of Northeast Second Street from the alley between Lots No. 26 and 35, in the Original Town, now City of Fairfield, to East Court Street; and

The south side of East Court Street form Northeast Second Street tot he alley between Lots No. 25 and 26 of the Original Town, now City of Fairfield.

Any person, firm or corporation found guilty of violating this section shall be fined not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each offense.

The Fairfield City Police are authorized and directed to place signs to properly designate the five (5) minute parking limits as described above. (Ord. 1329 1, 1988)

18.08.095 Passenger Car Only Parking Areas.
 
It shall be unlawful to park or stand any vehicle other than a passenger car at the following locations in the City of Fairfield, Illinois, designated PASSENGER CAR ONLY PARKING AREA:

On either side of West Main Street for a distance of Fifty (50) feet easterly from the intersection of West Main Street and Second Street;

On either side of West main Street for a distance of Fifty (50) feet easterly from the intersection of West Main Street and Sixth Street;

On either side of West Main Street for a distance of fifty (50) feet easterly from the intersection of West Main Street and Seventh Street;

On the south side of West Delaware Street for a distance of seventy-five (75) feet westerly from the intersection of West Delaware Street and South West Seventh Street;

On the south side of West Delaware Street for a distance of seventy-five (75) feet westerly from the intersection of West Delaware Street and South West Fourth Street.

The word passenger car shall mean and include a motor vehicle that is designed for carrying not more than ten (10) persons, but shall not include a multipurpose passenger vehicle.

The word multipurpose passenger vehicle shall mean and include a passenger carrying vehicle which is constructed either on a truck chassis or with special features for occasional off-road operation. (Ord. 1282 1, 1986)

18.08.100 No Parking Areas During Hours Eight a.m. Four p.m. Monday thru Friday.
 
It shall be unlawful to park or stand any vehicle during the hours form eight a.m. to four p.m. Monday through Fridays at the following locations in the City of Fairfield, Illinois, designated No parking areas during hours eight a.m. four p.m. Monday thru Friday:

West side of Southeast Second Street adjacent to the North Third of Lot 65 in Turneys Second Addition to Fairfield, Illinois (Ord. 1005 Sec. 2 8-13-74)

18.08.110 No Parking Areas During Hours One a.m. Five a.m.
 
Every Day for Street Sweeping Purposes. It shall be unlawful to park or stand any vehicle during the hours from one a.m. to five a.m. every day at the following locations in the City of Fairfield, Illinois, designated no parking areas during hours one a.m. five a.m. Monday thru Friday:

Main Street from west city limits to the east city limits (Ord. 746 Sec. 1 6-16-59)

Delaware Street form west city limits to the east city limits (Ord. 746 Sec. 1 6-16-59)

Court Street from North First Street to Northeast Fourth Street (Ord. 746 Sec. 1 6-16-59)

Northeast Fourth Street from Court Street to Delaware Street (Ord. 746 Sec. 1 6-16-59)

Northeast Third Street from Court Street to Center Street (Ord. 746 Sec. 1 6-16-59)

Northeast Second Street from Court to Douglas Street (Ord. 746 Sec. 6-16-59)

First Street from south railroad tracks to Water Street (Ord. 746 Sec. 1 6-16-59)

18.08.115 Loading Zone. A.
 
 It shall be unlawful to park or stand any vehicle, whether occupied or not, at the following locations in the City of Fairfield, Illinois, except temporarily, for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading property or passengers in the following area designed loading zone:

On the north side of East Court Street for a distance of fifty feet (50) easterly form the intersection of Northeast Second Street and East Court Street.

B. The chief of the police department shall post or cause to be posted suitable loading zone signs at the locations described above. (Ord. 1360 1, 1991)

18.08.120 Posting Signs.
 
 The chief of the police department of the City of Fairfield shall post or cause to be posted suitable no parking signs at said locations facing the traffic approaching said locations in the direction of travel on said roadways.

18.08.130 Removal and Storage.
 
Any vehicle parked in violation of this chapter is hereby declared a nuisance which may be abated by any police officer removing or causing to be removed said vehicle to any authorized garage and the costs of said removal and storage shall constitute a lien upon said vehicle. Said vehicle shall be restored to the owner or operator upon payment of the costs of removal and storage.

18.08.150 Penalty.
 
Any person, firm or corporation found guilty of violating any provisions of this chapter shall be fined not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each offense.
